Melina Gunby

BIO Melina Ann Paige Gunby is an Associate Attorney at Sioli Alexander Pino handling federal and state workers’ compensation claims within the firm’s practice. 

Melina earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Georgia Southern University. She then attended the University of Georgia School of Law to earn her Doctor of Jurisprudence. While completing her legal education, Melina distinguished herself as the President of the Older, Wiser, Law Students (OWLS) organization and was also involved in the First Generation Law Students Association, Law Democrats club, OUTlaw club, and National LGBT Bar Association. 

Post-graduation, Melina began her legal career as a tax attorney where she represented domestic and international individuals and corporations during IRS audits and in state and federal tax controversies. She then began work as a civil attorney with a primary focus on state workers’ compensation claims before starting at Sioli Alexander Pino.  

Since becoming a member of the Florida Bar Association, Melina has been actively involved in the Workers' Compensation Section. Within the Section, she has worked to establish the Emerging Leaders Committee—including drafting the founding bylaws, as well as working with a team of attorneys to create a training for the Florida Bar which will be included in the Phase II Basic Skills catalog for new attorneys. 

Melina lives in North Georgia with her husband, two dogs, and cat. She enjoys hiking, reading, cross-stitching, and cheering on the Georgia Southern Eagles and local hockey team.
